For its 10th year of working with students and teachers, Recycle Hawaii has revamped its Art of Recycling school competition to include a math/science component with flexible scheduling and logistics for schools.

The goals of the Art &Science of Recycling project are to increase environmental awareness and promote recycling and sustainable practices in school, home and community.

Open to public, private or home-based schools, pre-K-12 students use recyclable and reusable resources to create artful forms, functional pieces or innovations to share with others during the month of April.

Teachers should register for Art &Science of Recycling by Wednesday, and complete activities and reports before April 15 and no later than May 4.

To register, go to www.recyclehawaii.org, or call Marsha Hee, RH education director, at 985-8725 or email hiartrecycle@gmail.com.
